      Directions for Employee Competency Development

      At Woongjin Coway, we offer the STEP(Self Teaching & Education Plan) program as a systematic and essential training system to help our employees to develop expertise and strengthen their competitiveness. The STEP includes common job performance training, "leadership training" for recognizing the role of each position, as well as "legally required training programs" such as sexual harassment prevention, information security, and disability awareness at the workplace. The completion of the required training programs is reflected in the evaluation for promotion. We also provide a variety of voluntary training programs, special lectures featuring invited speakers, e-learning, and foreign language to encourage voluntary participation in self-development programs.

      Leadership Training

      To develop the leadership skills and job expertise of our employees, we provide leadership training programs. Executives and team leaders internalize leadership skills required to lead the organization through weekly training, annual/semi-annual group training, and e-learning programs. For team staff, we provide promotion training and 3rd-year job training to encourage them to internalize the corporate vision and reflect on their performance and career to align their personal growth with organizational goals.

      Job Expertise and Personal Growth Training

      Common Competency Academy
      To help our employees understand our organization and improve the level of competency required for the job, we offer the "Common Competency Academy Course" where they can attend lectures given by external speakers. It includes 6 tracks and 55 courses in the fields of strategy/business management, finance/accounting, marketing, work skills, understanding Woongjin Coway, negotiation, and persuasion. The Understanding Woongjin Coway Track, in particular, is a customized in-house course that provides opportunities to learn about our business and fieldwork such as the rental and Cody services.
      Headquarters Customized Training
      The Headquarters Customized Training is organized to develop and promote training programs in R&D, quality and design. The R&D customized training is designed to secure competitive advantage and analyze demands while the quality training and internalization programs focus on 2019 training programs and develop advanced training while fostering internal instructors and job mentors. In addition, we provide customized training consulting services to strengthen the level of job competency required by each division.
      Personal Growth Training
      In order to promote personal and emotional growth of our employees, we provide special lectures and a Leader's Study. Special lectures have been held on a monthly basis since 2013 and gained popularity as they feature guests who are suggested by our employees. So far, the guests have included Professor Jae-cheon Choi, Hyun-jun Yu, an architect, and Dong-jin Lee, a film critic. They have shared their passion and views on various subjects with our employees. The Leader's Study is an educational program where, once a year, all employees are given a book recommended by the CEO which helps them to share his values. We will continue to focus on these programs to provide opportunities to grow and share happiness with our employees.
