      Improving Access to Clean Water

As Korea’s leading water solution company, we engage in various projects to promote the importance of clean water in co-operation with government organizations.
Since 2015 when we signed an agreement with the Ministry of Environment for the "Safe Groundwater Project", we have provided water purifiers for rural areas with contaminated water resources. In order to improve their access to clean water, we supply water purifiers for 500 households while providing technical support and carrying out research to improve the quality of groundwater.
      Safe Ground Water Project
      Water Welfare Project
We are committed to improving access to clean water for low-income families in Chungcheongnam-do, which has the lowest water supply rate in the country. From 2015 to 2020, we will supply 100 water purifiers with a reverse osmosis filter each year for 6 years and provide a free maintenance service for up to 5 years for people with little access to clean drinking water.
Woongjin Coway has signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of the Environment for the "Prevention of Environmental Diseases of the Vulnerable Population" to donate air purifiers. The project was launched in 2009 to prevent environmental diseases of the elderly and vulnerable populations and improve the quality of lives. Since we joined the project in 2018, we have donated air purifiers and provided maintenance services in 16 local government groups in the Seoul Metropolitan Area and 5 major cities. We will continue to engage in environmental and social responsibility programs to promote mutual growth with our local community.

We are promoting the value of clean water in the areas with contaminated water resources and poor access to clean water.

Providing Rainwater Supplying Systems in Malaysia

In order to help improve access to clean water in Malaysia, we have provided rainwater supplying systems. In 2018, we worked with our local subsidiaries to install a system in a village with 71 households and 82 families. Currently, rainwater supplying systems have been installed benefiting 155 households in total. We will continue to provide the systems for 1,000 households with the aim to raise awareness and promote the importance of clean water around the world.

      Sponsoring “Korea Junior Water Prize”
To tap into the unlimited potential of youth and address current and future water challenges, we decided to sponsor the “Korea Junior Water Prize 2018”, which is a creativity competition that gathers imaginative young minds and encourages continued interest in water and sustainable issues.

In this competition, students are paired with teachers to submit their research plan and results in the water-related topic of their choice. The winner will be qualified to enter the Stockholm Junior Water Prize in Sweden. The purpose of the sponsorship is to raise awareness of water issues for our youth. We plan to take initiatives in promoting the importance of clean water.
CSV Project for Solving Youth Unemployment
As a leading one-man startup with more than 20,000 employees and Codys/CS Doctors, we share our expertise for success and provide systemic startup training and mentoring programs in startup, marketing and branding strategies through the Wi School. Since its foundation in 2016 as part of our CSV(Creating Shared Value) project, the Wi School has helped startups and solved youth unemployment while contributing to our nation’s economic growth.

From the first group of participants, a successful luxury handbag startup business was launched, while in the second group, young entrepreneurs with business ideas related to our industry such as health, rental, and cosmetics were provided with opportunities to pursue their business. For the third group, we supported business ideas in the areas of home wellness appliances and beauty combined with the Fourth Industry. As a result, the idea for the IoT pet healthcare solution was selected as the winner and received financial support for their startup.

With the fourth group opening in 2019, more than 100 young entrepreneurs join the Wi School every year. Through this project, we provide guidance and support for them to gain competitive advantages and succeed in the startup market. By taking advantage of expertise we will continue to provide the support they need to make their dream come true.
