- Selected as the best water taste in the water purification sector

Woongjin Coway took the first place in the water purifier sector of the “4th Water Purifier/Natural Water Taste Evaluation” hosted by the KISA (Korea International Sommelier Association) on March 19. This is the second consecutive year that the company has ranked top.

The event was prepared to provide consumers with information on how to products with good water taste, in which five water sommeliers representing Korea participated in the evaluation. The water purifier sector was newly launched last year.

The evaluation in the water purifier sector targeted the latest products existing ones recommended by marketing staff of five major water purifier makers. Three-stage blind test was conducted in accordance with filter wear rate &ndash January 31 (0), February 12 (50), March 8 (100).

The evaluation result has recommended Woongjin Coway’s water purifier (CHP-6310L) as the best water taste creator for two consecutive years. Cuckoo (CP-PS011P) ranked second, followed by LG Electronics (WD302AW), SK Magic (WPU1200), Chungho Nice (CHP-4030S).

Ji-hyun Chung, one of the evaluators, said, “Water purified by Woongjin Coway ensures a good feeling of refreshment, soft swallowing, pleasant aftertaste.”

Woongjin Coway has been conducting researches on the taste of purified water by organizing a task force team since 2009 opened the “Water Taste Research Center” in the Coway R&D Institutes located in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, in January 2019 for the purpose of studying clean taste water.

In addition, the CIROO (Coway Intensive Reverse Osmosis) filter system developed in 2017 has been adopted to air purifiers.

The CIROO filter system consists of CIROO filter C9 carbon block filter. The CIROO filter demonstrates more compact structure by maximum 24 compared with existing RO membrane filter, which ensures purifying plenty of water despite high purification performance effectively eliminates residual chlorine, iron, manganese, cooper, sulfate ion. The C9 carbon block filter is made of activated carbon of natural coconuts. Therefore, this system creates clean water with good taste, sense of refreshment, swallowing.

Sang-hyun, the head of R&D Division at Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute, said, “Our consistent efforts for R&D innovation on water have resulted in taking first place in the water taste evaluation. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to researching clean tasty water.”
