Woongjin Coway participated in 'Venice Design 2019' which will have been held in Venice, Italy for five months until November 24 introduced an art work with the concept of ‘water refill station’. The art work was made by the cooperation with designer Yoo Young-Gyu. The company also announced the importance of the value of eco-friendliness to all over the world.

This year is the 4th year of the Venice Design that is an international design exhibition hosted by the European Cultural Center. It is held simultaneously with the 124th Venice Biennale, which is the world's largest art festival.

In this exhibition, Woongjin Coway presented an art work with the concept of 'water refill station', which is a water dispenser that provides safe clean water in public places by collaborating with designer Yoo Young-Gyu. The company delivered the message that public drinking PET water bottles should be reduced in consumption, people need to participate in environmental conservation by increasing the efficiency of public water dispenser.

Water refill station provides clean water after removing various pollutants through differentiated filter technology of Woongjin Coway. Also the water refill station shows the water quality in real time through the display screen installed on the dispenser. Its water quality can be checked with a mobile phone application. Even though there are water dispensers all over the city, many people do not use it due to the low trustworthiness in their water quality hygiene. This motivated Woongjin Coway. The company wanted to get rid of such anxiety it worked. The water refill station received a lot of attention from the visitors by showing the safety clearly.

Song Hyun-Ju, the director of the Woongjin Coway Design Research Center, said, “We participated in this exhibition to reduce the use of disposal products to spread the culture of environmental preservation in daily life by increasing the access to clean water.” And she also said, “We will spread the value of healthy sustainable life to the world, with the eco-friendly design leading the ultimate change of our lifestyle.”

Meanwhile, Yoo Young-gyu, a designer who collaborated in this exhibition, is a famous industrial designer who is currently representing 'Cloud & Co' design studio. As a former creative director of Microsoft, he was ed as the 'Designer of the Future of Microsoft'. Also, he was a member of the evaluation committee for the 'D & AD 2018', which is a worldwide advertising design awards ceremony. His work is the first Korean artwork to be permanently possessed by the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York, USA.
